MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS

Volunteering for Turquoise Coasts is a rewarding experience!

Since Didem joined us as a volunteer, she has been actively working for the visibility of our first-round grants, survey, and fieldwork, and joining our efforts through our events and workshops.

She is trained as an environmental sociologist with minors in City & Regional Planning from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. Her research interest lies at the intersection of nature and culture, environmental justice, and political ecology. She is particularly interested in exploring the social dimensions of environmental issues and developing innovative and equitable solutions to address our planet’s urgent challenges.

We are delighted to have her on board with her professionalism and huge enthusiasm for our marine and coastal conservation work in Turkey.
